Stockton Town Centre High Street Regeneration
24th September ’15 / Stockton High Street (meet at water feature) / 6.30 – 8pm
Recent national and regional publicity is evidence that Landscape Architecture is still playing a major role in our regions big regeneration schemes. Stockton Borough Council have recently completed a £20m public realm improvement scheme for its High Street as part of a wider £38m investment in the town centre. The scheme was delivered by its in house multi-disciplinary design team with landscape architecture being at the very heart of the design and delivery process.
The scheme includes flexible market and events spaces incorporating an interactive water feature, 20,000m² of natural stone paving, 64no. semi mature street trees, bespoke street furniture and bespoke lighting columns.
Members of Stockton’s Urban Landscape Team will be accompanying us on this study tour.
